Helen and Paul.

Helen and Paul Webster, who cofounded Walkhighlands, Britain’s most popular website for walking and hiking in Scotland, have signed a three-book deal with Vertebrate.

The Websters will write the first two Scotland guidebooks in Vertebrate’s popular Day Walks series – the first to the Cairngorms, and one to the Glencoeand Fort William area – and both books will be released in 2020. They will follow on from Helen and Paul’s latest book, Scottish Island Bagging, out in October and also published by Vertebrate.

Scottish Island Bagging is a guide to the enchanting isles of Scotland, focusing on easily accessible destinations and those of significant size or interest including household names such as Skye, Lewis and Bute and the remote St Kilda archipelago and Sula Sgeir.

Helen Webster said: ‘We've long been passionate about exploring Scotland's landscapes and islands and are thrilled to have teamed up with Vertebrate – a publisher with an unmatched commitment to the outdoors. Our book on Scottish Islands is based on years of exciting journeys and will hopefully inspire others to get as much from their adventures. We're lucky enough to call the Cairngorms our backyard and are really enjoying looking afresh at this dramatic and wildlife-rich area as we research the Day Walks book.’

Scottish Island Bagging will be published on 3 October.
